Multiple problems and unsolved issued by the Forest Charts

Why the hugely important task of posting forest charts throughout Greece should go ahead and be completed.

By Stergios Diamantopoulos*

Is Olympus a forest? This question (which is obviously out of intention) with the obvious answer has been answered today by the Forest ChartsThat is, three years after the first 50% of the country posted two definitive answers were delivered, the answer of which was self-evident and not questionable by anyone.

1st If our mountains are forests and woodlands
2nd If our plains are NOT forests and woodlands

All the other problems and pathogens of the country from 1945 onwards remain in vain and without solutions. But what are these, I remind them many times:

⦁ Arbitrary construction within forests and forest areas (the notorious residential condensation / rejection by the CoE)
⦁ Unapproved settlements
⦁ Forest and forest land clearances (rejected by the CoE)
⦁ The forested fields
⦁ Grasslands
⦁ The presumption in favor of the State, WHO applies and HOW it applies
⦁ The non-identification of the geospatial data of the Cadastre and the Forest Maps

The previous poll of 50% of the country highlighted and left behind the actions of the citizens, namely:

⦁ 170,000 objections of citizens awaiting trial, that is, thousands of citizens trapped in public bureaucracy
⦁ Millions of acres of agricultural land in dispute over the eligibility of European subsidies

The main issue that has arisen once again, however, is the inability and inefficiency of the State to respond to such a major and major reform task.

We cannot, and should not, proceed to the next posting of the rest of the country without serious solutions to the above issues.

Immediate and correct constitutional solutions are required.

⦁ Evaluation of the previous status of Forest Map posts
⦁ Involvement of actors and forces (that can provide solutions) more actively in the project (HELLENIC CATALOG, OPEKEPE, Individuals)
⦁ Legislative initiatives of the Government in the national interest, the Constitution and the protection of citizens' rights

There are no simple and magical solutions.

This enormous task must go ahead and be completed because:
⦁ The Greek State and all of us must know who and where our natural wealth is
⦁ Citizens need to know where, what and in what form their property is
⦁ Then and only then could proper spatial planning be achieved
⦁ Only then can the State and the citizen protect and use their property
⦁ Only then can the investment environment be significantly improved
⦁ Only then can the sense of justice be established
