In the framework of the project “Design, grazing management research, within the geographical boundaries of the Municipality of Lagada, Aristotle and Polygyros that fall under the jurisdiction of the Koroni Volvo Lakes Management Authority” which will be presented by our company , at a conference to be held by the Koroneia and Volvi Lakes Management Body on November 21, 2015.

The workshop is being held in the context of the completion of the project "Management and Operation of Koroneia and Volvi Protected Area of Lakes and Macedonian Temps" funded by the Macedonia - Thrace Operational Program 2007-2013.

 

DEVELOPMENT OF MANAGEMENT AND DECISION SUPPORT TOOLS FOR THE PROTECTION OF ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES INFRASTRUCTURES FROM FOREST FIRE DANGER IN BALKAN COUNTRIES AND TURKEY

The company has been awarded funding for the implementation of a project called “Development of management and decision support tools for the protection of economic and societal activities of forest fire risk infrastructures in the Balkan countries and Turkey” with the short title “FireWtach”, which is funded by the NSRF 2007-2013 Program “Openness and Competitiveness of Businesses II”. The “FireWatch” project aims to produce an integrated product for assessing and mapping forest fires of specific economic activity infrastructures while proposing personalized precautionary actions. The product covers a wide range of functions for estimating and spatial depiction of forest fire risk in a specific area while proposing targeted actions for forest fire risk reduction based on the environmental and meteorological characteristics of each location. Beyond its operational character, the product can also be considered as an educational tool for the training of both visitors and staff. Essentially, it is a Geographic Information System application supported by client oriented and specialized services

The Hellenic Managing Authority European Territorial Cooperation Programs is organizing the "1st European Territorial Cooperation Conference: Promoting Best Practices-Sharing Experiences", which will be held in the framework of the Greek Presidency of the Council of Europe and in celebration of Europe Day.

The conference will take place on May 8 and 9, 2014 in Thessaloniki, Greece (Venue: Macedonia Palace Hotel).

The aim of the Court is to build on existing experiences and lessons learned and concentrate efforts to turn individual and institutional experience and knowledge into capital that can be used in the future.

During the conference, our company will present the results and share its experiences during the implementation of the OUTLAND Program “Development of Open Protocols and Tools for the Education and Training of Voluntary Protection Organizations for Natural Disasters (Forest Fires) in Greece” »As a consultant to the Municipality of Thermi.

Most important of all, however, is that the OUTLAND Program has been implemented in such a way as to lay the foundations for a multidisciplinary co-operation structure that is central to the support and training of Civil Protection volunteers on Natural Disasters.

The new European Climate Action Line also includes the newly established inter-municipal cooperation as a result of the program related to volunteering, civil protection and the environment. Volunteering in Civil Protection is a key pillar of preparedness for the citizen to remain safe even when local communities are faced with extreme environmental conditions. The first degree Local Authorities of the country are institutionally responsible for the organization and support of the Civil Protection Teams.

New contract entitled “Continuous Support Consultant for the Implementation of Measures 125B, 224, 226 and 277 of the Rural Development Program 2007-2013” signed between OMIKRON SA and the Managing Authority of the Rural Development Program of Greece 2007-2013.

OMIKRON SA undertook, following a request for tenders from the Managing Authority of the “Rural Development of Greece 2007-2013” Program, along with another company, the implementation of the project “Continuous Support Consultant for the Implementation of Measures Bodies 125B, 224, 226 and 277 of the Rural Development Program 2007-2013 ”.

The contract was signed on 29/11/2013 with the Managing Authority, and the project duration is 24 months with a total budget of 60,000 €. The company is responsible for 50% of the project's implementation.

Essentially the project deals with the implementation of Bodies Implementation (Special Secretariat for Forests / Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change), monitoring of the implementation of measures 125B, 224, 226 and 227 and supporting the correct implementation under the relevant rules of funding.

The consultant during the project will also provide specialized services to Implementing Bodies, which can deal with technical issues, project management issues, instituting various actions and adaptations.

OMIKRON SA undertook, following a request for tenders from the Department of Environmental Management of the Department of Environmental Planning (Directorate General of the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change) in collaboration with other companies, the implementation of the project entitled “Horizontal technical and scientific coordination of surveillance and assessment studies of the conservation status of species and habitats in Greece and synthetic assessment of results”.

The contract was signed on 02-01-2014 with the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change and the project duration is 26 months with a budget of 900.000 €. The company is responsible for 33% of the project's implementation.

The project is implemented as a response to the obligations deriving from Directives 92/43 / EEC and 2009/147 / EC. The implementation will help strengthen the environmental protection of habitat types and species of Community interest, both at national and European level.

The company has undertaken the following:

1. The processing and mapping of spatial information and the development of databases for: (a) the monitoring and assessment of conservation status data that will result from the Supervision Projects of habitat types and species of flora and fauna, (b) Monitoring of the entire range of literature data. The specialized databases developed by our company are following the obligations deriving from Directives 92/43 / EEC and 2009/147 / EC, as well as the INSPIRE Directive, and have been designed in constant collaboration with the Managing Authority and the involved partners.

2. The assessment, coordination and counseling on scientific and technical issues related to the eight individual thematic surveillance programs of species and flora and fauna species being carried out in Greece. Also, the company will provide scientific documentation and specialized issues regarding those thematic programs.

OMIKRON SA undertook, following a request from tenders from the National Cadastre and Mapping Agency SA in collaboration with other companies, the implementation of the project entitled “Development of a large-scale infrastructure (1: 5000) spatial data of natura protected land areas «NATURA 2000» in 94 pSCI and 67 SPA areas in Greece (Study N1-01) ”.

The contract was signed on 01-04-2014 with the National Cadastre and Mapping Agency SA and the project duration is 20 months with a total budget of 900.000 €. The company is responsible for 50% of the project's implementation.

The purpose of the project is to precisely identify the external boundaries of the terrestrial areas of the NATURA 2000 network, namely Community Importance Areas (SCIs) and Special Protection Areas (SPAs) and to update, describe and delineate terrestrial habitat types in the SCIs based on high precision (LSO) and 1: 5000 color orthographies of EKXA SA and field work.

OMIKRON SA undertook, following a request from tenders from the National Cadastre and Mapping Agency SA the implementation of the project entitled “Study for the Implementation of Forest Maps in the Regional Units of Imathia, Kilkis, Pella and Serres of the Central Macedonia Prefecture” with project code D6-02.

The contract was signed on 08-04-2014 with the National Cadastre and Mapping Agency SA and the project duration is 30 months with a budget of € 7,200,000. The company is responsible for 50% of the project's implementation.

The project deals with the implementation of forest maps for the protection of forests and forest areas and for the integration of the land registry process in order for the National Cadastre to be finalized.
